Ocoee Theatre brings ‘The Odd Couple’ to Cleveland

One is a freewheeling, messy sports writer; the other a neurotic neat-freak. And when these two guys become roommates, the fun begins in Neil Simon’s classic comedy, “The Odd Couple.”

Ocoee Theatre will open

“The Odd Couple” on Saturday, Feb. 22, for five performances at The Venue Creekside in Cleveland, Tennessee. Director Trevis Orr guarantees a night of side-splitting laughs and some outstanding comedic performances.

The action revolves around these two friends who are polar opposites in character. After Felix’s wife leaves him, he looks for a place to stay to alleviate his depression, and moves into Oscar’s apartment. The clash of personalities creates the play’s hilarity.

Jeff Ellis plays Oscar, and David Wisnewski, a trained actor from Florida, plays Felix in this production.

Their four poker-playing buddies, who are envious of Oscar and Felix’s unburdened lifestyle obtained through divorce or separation, are Bill Pinch, Kasey Torbett, Jeff Guentensberger and Ryan Smith.

The Pigeon sisters, Gwendolyn and Cecily, round out the cast. Carrie Porter, a newcomer to the stage, and Susan Guentensberger fill these roles.
