FarleyCon comic, toy expo in East Ridge

Authors, artists, toy and comic vendors will gather Saturday, March 7, when FarleyCon: Toy and Comic Book Expo returns to the East Ridge Community Center.

Among featured guests will be husband and wife June Brigman and Roy Richardson.

Brigman is a comic book artist and the co-creator of Marvel’s Power Pack comic book. She has worked for major comic book publishers such as DC Comics, Marvel Comics and Dark House.

Richardson has worked for all the major publishers on such books as Captain America, Iron Man, the Flash, Star Wars, The

HarperColl­ins, and the “Gray Widow Trilogy,” an adult urban-science-fiction series from Seventh Star Press. He recently released “The Storm.”

Jolley has also written for many video games including Chronos, Mafia 3, Dying Light, multiple Transforme­r games, Avatar and more.

FarleyCon visitors are encouraged to bring a child-friendly Funko Pop for donation to Pops for Patients. This charity collects Funko Pop figures for donation to children’s hospitals.

Additional­ly, nonprofit Waiting to Hear will hold a Not So Silent Auction featuring a Blues Brothers-inspired twist at 4 p.m. Saturday. Waiting to Hear is a charity that assists children with hearing loss and raises awareness of what cochlear implants are and the benefits they provide. Guests are encouraged to bid on autographs that have been donated to this cause.

The vendor market at FarleyCon has expanded to two rooms and will be filled with comics, toys, collectibl­es, crafts as well as authors and artists.

FarleyCon guests with early admission tickets will be allowed in the Vendor Room at 9 a.m. Otherwise, the room is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
