Get in the mood for Valentine’s with poetry

Tonight:

Two nights of poetry this weekend can serve as a prelude to Valentine’s Day. Love Groove will get sweetheart­s in the mood tonight. Manifest’s Beautiful Nights of Poetry will follow on Saturday.

Romantic verse is sure to be part of tonight’s Love Groove, Rhyme N Chatt’s annual party with dancing and an open mike for local poets.

Love Groove will be held from 8 to 11 p. m. at the Chattanoog­a Convention Center, 1 Carter Plaza. The Valentine’s party includes dancing to Pure Sound and a disc jockey. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Rhyme N Chatt is cosponsori­ng tonight’s event with Chattanoog­a Soul and the University of Tennessee at Chattanoog­a Black Alumni.

Tickets at the door are $ 25. Proceeds will be donated to Chattanoog­a Autism Center to help fund its annual Autism Conference in May.

The monthly Manifest series will feature the Beautiful Nights Poetry Show at 9 p. m. Saturday at The Camp House, 1427 Williams St.

Poole, Lajuan White and Marcus Ellsworth, will take the stage to explore the highs and lows of love in dynamic fashion, according to organizer Christian J. Collier.

Doors open at 8 p. m. Admission is $ 8.
