Unity Dance Troupe to perform at Lee

Unity Dance Troupe will perform twice this weekend in Dixon Center at Lee University, Cleveland, Tenn. Doors open at 7 p.m. and shows begin at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday. The faith-based troupe was founded in January 2010 by Alexis Ziarkowski, a senior at Lee, whose goal was to show that even people who felt they couldn’t “had it in them to dance.” Ziarkowski, a profession­al dancer, has a mission of powerful themes, and these performanc­es feature an original choreograp­hy about human sex traffickin­g called “Rescued.” Admission is free.
