Headquarte­rs for Vision Hospitalit­y takes shape

Project: The Vision Building Owner: Vision Hospitalit­y Group, Inc. Location: 411 Broad St. Architect: River Street Architects.

Size: 26,950 square feet, four stories.

Contractor: Biscan Constructi­on. Cost for project: $4.2 million. Scope: The top two floors will new corporate headquarte­rs. The first floor will house retail while the second floor will be leased as office space. The building will include a rooftop patio and Starbucks-style breakroom for Vision employees.

Timeline: The building is on track to be finished in spring 2014.

History: Vision Hospitalit­y Group, founded in 1997, is currently based near Hamilton Place mall but has four hotels in downtown Chattanoog­a, so it headquarte­rs there, said Mitch Patel, president and CEO. He hopes to create a state-of-theart working environmen­t in a pedestrian-friendly area to help retain and attract top employees.

Future: Patel wants to keep the company headquarte­red in Chattanoog­a and plans to use the new building as a training hub for new employees. Vision Hospitalit­y has 17 hotels in the pipeline — eight under constructi­on, nine in the pre-constructi­on phase. The family-owned company has a portfolio of 26 hotels with a market value of nearly $325 million.
