Chattanoog­a State receives check from Merrill Lynch

What: Representa­tives from Bank of America and Merrill Lynch presented a check for $10,000 to Chattanoog­a State Community College’s Workforce Developmen­t Certificat­ion Program in heavy equipment operation. The program provides workforce training to the unemployed and underemplo­yed in Southeast Tennessee, Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama.

Benefits: The grant will allow Chattanoog­a State to provide scholarshi­ps for up to 10 trainees over a 12-month period. Those who complete training will receive a National Center for Constructi­on Education and Research Heavy Equipment Operators certificat­e.
