Family and friends were with her at her home as she slipped into eternity and into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Diana was a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, receiving her BS degree in nursing in 1967. She met her future husband of 46 years there: R. Larson Mick. She loved nursing, and worked in various locations, including Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. But she wanted to be involved with her children and volunteered at their schools.

She had four children, three by birth, Mary Michelle Mick, Daniel L. Mick and Jonathan R. Mick, and one “adopted” son, Robert E. Winebarger. She was blessed to live to see her nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, James Carlton Dauksch Jr., and William Dauksch; and one sister, Cynthia Dauksch Blair.

When the nest was getting empty she looked for other avenues of service and volunteered with AAA Women’s Services, the Salvation Army Auxiliary, and Channels of Love ministries. She loved Bible studies with Kay Arthur’s Precept Ministries. She was involved with various ministries of her church.

On her behalf, her family, and especially her husband, express their deep appreciation to Dr. Darrell Johnson and his staff at the Tennessee Oncology Center for their many years of service, counselling and love, to the staff of the Memorial Hospital Infusion Center, and to everyone at Blood Assurance of Chattanooga and all the donors, without whose many “Gifts of Life” she would not have been able to live life to the fullest up to the end. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Diana’s life on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Wayside Presbyterian Church, Signal Mountain, with visitation immediately preceding the service. Final details have not been set. Visit the church’s website, waysidechurch.org, for details.
