CHATTANOOGA MOCS

-

QUARTERBACK

Jacob Huesman finished with 239 yards of total offense. Dominant in the first half, he was primarily a rusher in the final two quarters as the Mocs became more conservative with a healthy lead.

RUNNING BACKS

Derrick Craine and Richardre Bagley led a group that finished with 160 yards rushing. Craine appeared to be recovered from a minor knee injury, while Bagley’s 74 yards were a career high.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Xavier Borishade had a 38-yard walk into the end zone on a fly pattern in the second quarter. Aside from that, the receivers had eight catches for 28 yards. They didn’t do muchd.

OFFENSIVE LINE

The unit allowed two sacks (totaling 10 yards) and was whistled for two of the team’s six penalties, but the rushers had holes and Huesman typically had plenty of time to throw.

DEFENSIVE LINE

After a six-sack performance against Samford the week prior, the line might have been even better, tallying four sacks, five pass break-ups and an interception return for a touchdown.

LINEBACKERS

A.J. Freeman and Nakevion Leslie didn’t have many opportunities to make plays, but they still found time to deliver some bone-crushing hits.

DEFENSIVE BACKS

The Blue Hose were harassed so badly they didn’t have time to look downfield, let alone throw. When given chances, the secondary was solid. Lucas Webb’s hit on Ben Cheek late in the third quarter temporarily put the quarterback out of the game.

SPECIAL TEAMS

It was the worst performance of the season in a phase that was a strength. Henrique Ribeiro missed a field goal, and a punt by Alejandro Bennifield traveled only 20 yards, was fielded in the air, then returned 33 yards.

COACHING

The staff put the Mocs in a position to hold a healthy lead at halftime, allowing them to spend the second half counting down the seconds until the game ended and they celebrated their third win of the season.
