Lauren Alaina, the Rossville native who was Season 10 runner-up on “American Idol,” returns to the Fox Network’s talent show today to mentor Season 15 semifinalists. The two-hour episode of “American Idol” airs at 8 p.m.

Former winners and fan-favorite runner-ups have been invited back to “American Idol” to help the Fox juggernaut celebrate its final season on air. In previous episodes, these winners helped judge aspiring contestants at the cattle- call auditions around the country, and in episodes this week and next they will mentor and sing with this season’s semifinalists.

On tonight’s show with Lauren Alaina will be Scotty McCreery, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Caleb Johnson and last season’s winner Nick Fradiani. Both Alaina and McCreery, who won the Season 10 title, have gone on to successful country music careers.

Alaina will be opening Alan Jackson’s “Keepin’ It Country” tour on seven of the 11 dates announced so far; the first being March 18. Before that she is performing in the C2C country music festival held in London’s O2 Arena March 11-13.

Fans who want to hear her live can catch her in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday, Feb. 19.

“American Idol’s” first live show will air Feb. 25, when the show’s first winner, Kelly Clarkson, will be guest judge and perform.
