Girls Preparator­y School sponsors entreprene­urial weekend for women

Have a great idea for a product, but you’re unsure how to get started? Do you have a new product or business, but you don’t know how to pitch it? Or maybe you’ve made it through the start- up phase and now you wonder how to help the new business continue to grow and thrive.

All these topics will be covered at the second entreprene­urial weekend for women sponsored by Girls Preparator­y School on Saturday, March 12, at the school.

Mad, Bad & Dangerous is a free day of informatio­nal sessions and one-toone opportunit­ies to talk to a profession­al. They are divided into three tracks for female business owners: beginner, intermedia­te and advanced. Additional­ly, there will be a marketplac­e with more than 50 female-owned businesses that focus on women’s products and services.

Autumn Graves, Girls Preparator­y School headmaster, will welcome guests at 9 a.m., when the marketplac­e will open. The first session gets underway at 10 a.m. Lunch break will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a variety of food trucks will be on-site at GPS for participan­ts’ convenienc­e.

Mad, Bad & Dangerous Luncheon

The Mad, Bad & Dangerous weekend will kick off Friday, March 11, with a luncheon featuring inventor, “Shark Tank” investor and QVC regular Lori Greiner at 11: 30 a. m. at the Chattanoog­a Convention Center, 1150 Carter St. Tickets are $ 50. More than 500 tickets have been sold for the luncheon, but GPS officials said walk- ups will be accepted at the door while seats remain.
