Amber Hayes & Friends at Puckett’s on Saturday

- STAFF REPORT

Singer/ songwriter Amber Hayes will be the featured entertainment at Puckett’s, 2 W. Aquarium Way, on Saturday, March 13.

Her current EP, “Running Out of Memories,” includes a remix of a previously released tune, “Me & Loretta,” and a new rendition of the classic “Cotton Eyed Joe,” which was featured in the family film, “Cowgirls ‘N Angels 2: Dakota’s Summer.”

The title track, Hayes’ most recent single, scored the Oklahoma native her fourth consecutive Top 40 single. Her first break at country radio was with her debut EP, “C’mon,” which landed her two Top 40 singles (“C’mon” and “Wait”) on the national MusicRow Country Breakout chart. She followed up with sophomore album “Any Day Is a Good Day.” Most recently, Hayes wrote and recorded “Hero’s Heart” in honor of her uncle, Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins, who was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2014.

Over the past few years, Hayes has been touring and performing at fairs, festivals and performance venues across the country. She has performed as the opening act for Reba McEntire, one of her greatest musical influences, and has entertained fans overseas at military bases and international festivals, including the Country Gold Festival in Japan and the Scandinavian Country Music Festival in Sweden. She has made multiple appearances performing the national anthem at NFL and NBA games.

This Amber Hayes & Friends event also will feature Bill DiLuigi and Mark Kelly Hall. DiLuigi is a staff writer at Rhyme Partners in Nashville whose credentials include several songs in the Billboard, Americana and Music Row Top 100 charts as well as a Top 10 hit in Australia (“Manhunt,” recorded by Christie Lamb.) Hall, a Chattanooga native now based in Nashville, says his music is akin to that of Jim Croce, James Taylor and Jackson Browne, though he’s not above doing an Archies tune.

The performers will entertain in a song writers-in-the-round format. The music, a mix of contemporary and traditional country and Americana, starts at 9 p.m. Cover is $12.

Chattanooga musician Lon Eldridge is the featured act Friday, March 11. His free set starts at 9 p.m.
