Top-rated dining at Soho Hibachi
Alongside Battlefield Parkway, tucked between a nail salon and a print shop, Fort Oglethorpe’s top restaurant humbly announces its presence with its compact red and white signage, reading “Soho Hibachi.”
Indeed, people on the internet have voted and according to TripAdvisor, Soho is No. 1 out of 46 other Fort O. eateries. Recent reviews tout the space’s cleanliness, the staff’s friendliness and, most of all, the enormity of the portions.
One mother writes, “Even my teenage son had a few crumbs left on his plate, almost never happens!”
Specializing in fast, fresh and affordable Asian cuisine, Soho’s best-selling dishes are chicken hibachi and teriyaki hibachi, each served with sautéed broccoli, onion, mushroom and zucchini and the diner’s choice of white rice, fried rice, brown rice or noodles.
In fact, any of its hibachi or teriyaki meals come served with those same side options. In addition to chicken, other hibachi or teriyaki protein choices include New York strip steak, shrimp, salmon, scallops and filet mignon.
For an even more authentic Asian experience, Soho’s noodle and rice menu features recipes such as cha chiang mein, special noodle soup, udon soup and, for an appetizer, gyoza, which are traditional-style Japanese pork and veggie dumplings.
Yes, the internet has spoken. But while North Georgia gets to claim Soho as its favorite (almost) hidden gem, those living north of the river needn’t fret. Soho has a second location in Hixson, and based on its reviews — touting its cleanliness, friendliness and portion sizes — you won’t be disappointed.
