Falling for Trump

-

A Donald Trump sign thief in Indianapolis learned about instant karma recently when she tried to pluck a placard from a yard on the city’s Old North Side, according to a report on ABC television affiliate rTV6.

After two previous theft attempts in a four-week time, the first within a week of the sign going up, homeowner Philip — he asked his last name not be used — spray-painted fishing line and string the color of green to match the grass, attached it to the sign and set up a camera to watch the action.

Sure enough, a woman came to steal the sign, which by then had been duct-taped together and stretched out in order to stay up. However, when she picked it up and started to go away with it, she found resistance, tripped, and the sign flew out of her hand. She didn’t stay behind for a second try.

The homeowner says he doesn’t care if it’s Trump or Clinton, nobody should be stealing signs.

“You might disagree with the politics” of the candidate, he said, but “it’s not yours. Leave it alone.”

Reporter Katie Heinz of rTV6 said the homeowner may be “getting the last laugh.” After the latest incident, he took the video footage to Metro Indianapolis police.
