Man shot, wounded Friday

A man went to a local hospital by private vehicle after being wounded by a gunshot, Chattanooga police said.

A news release said Ruben Williams Sr., 39, told officers he was shot near 1800 N. Chamberlain Ave., but he couldn’t give an exact location and didn’t have a description of the shooter.

The release said members of the Violent Crime Bureau are following all actionable leads.
