Second suspect arrested in narcotics investigation
North Georgia narcotics investigators arrested a second person tied to an investigation at a Flintstone home.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit from the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, agents searched a house at 398 Burnt Mill Lane around 11:30 a.m. on June 15, finding three bags of cocaine, each containing about 1 ounce. Agents say they also found two crack-cocaine cookies, 18 Oxycodone pills, some ecstasy and “a large amount” of marijuana in a vacuum-sealed bag.
Five days after the search, agents took out a warrant against Jonie Michelle Burns, 37, charging her with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Agents also charged her with trafficking cocaine. Burns turned herself in to the Walker County Jail on Friday, according to a booking report, and she was being held without bond.
Burns’ arrest is the second for allegedly keeping those drugs. Joshua Philmore Jordan, 28, was arrested June 15, the same day the agents served their warrant. Neither Burns nor Jordan own the house at 398 Burnt Mill Lane, according to the Walker County property appraiser website.
