U.S. has history of brutal violence

-

Editor, I hate to disagree with you but the U.S. has always been about violence.

There was the initial violence against the indigenous, by which we reduced their members “muchly.” Plus the removal of the Cherokees because gold was found on their land. Many died. And of course, the Civil War — which is still being fought in the South. There have been riots in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles. We love our guns. We are not a peaceable kingdom.
