MOCS GAME IN BITS & PIECES

- gene Henley UTC beat writer

SATURDAY’S STAR

As he has been all season, defensive end Taylor Reynolds was solid at the point of attack. A week after recovering a fumble and intercepting a pass against Samford, he totaled a season-high 14 tackles against the eighthranked Terriers.

SATURDAY’S STAT

The Terriers were held to 233 yards of total offense against the UTC defense. It was their lowest output of the season by far, and fewer than their rushing output alone in seven of their previous eight games.

TURNING POINT

On the Mocs’ second possession of overtime, a miscommunication between quarterback Cole Copeland and receiver Joseph Parker led to a Wofford interception, which meant the Terriers needed only a field goal to win, which they got.

HIGHLIGHT PLAY

Lucas Webb had a secondquarter pick-six, which gave the Mocs a 14-7 lead at the time and set a Southern Conference record for career interception returns for scores.

WHAT IT MEANS

For the first time this season, UTC lost a game that, by all statistical measures, it should have won. While coach Tom Arth isn’t about moral victories, the turnaround of this team in recent weeks should bode well going into the off week and then the season finale at home against East Tennessee State.
