› Bach cantata: Chattanoog­a Bach Choir, led by artistic director David Long, continues its Cantata Series at 4 p.m. Jan. 21 at Christ Church Episcopal, 663 Douglas St. The program features Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cantata BWV 73, which translates “Lord, as You Will, So Let It Be Done With Me,” written for the third Sunday after Epiphany. Completing the hourlong program are a motet by Josquin des Prez based on Psalm 13 and Bach’s “Come Holy Ghost” fantasia. › Rhythms Retreats: “Longing for More — An Invitation to Spiritual Transforma­tion,” the first in a nine-part series exploring spiritual practices to cultivate intimacy with Christ, nourish the soul and transform your life, is set for 9 a.m.-noon today at Chattanoog­a House of Prayer, 3912 Dayton Blvd., Suite 200, Red Bank. Led by Micki Ann Harris, ChattHOP’s spiritual formation director, the free sessions may be taken as a whole or individual­ly. › M.L. King Birthday Celebratio­n: Unity Group of Chattanoog­a and the MLK Birthday Committee will present a program on the roles that children played in the civil-rights movement 4-6 p.m. Sunday at St. James Baptist Church, 1916 Duncan Ave. Cake and ice cream will follow. › King memorial celebratio­n: Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, will host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Memorial Celebratio­n at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The Rev. William Terry Ladd III, pastor of First Baptist Church, East Eighth Street, will speak on the theme “Keep on Dreaming.”

› Night To Shine:

Spring Creek Road Baptist Church is among 450 churches around the world hosting a Shine Prom for people with special needs, ages 14 and older, 6-9 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Colonnade, 264 Catoosa Circle, Ringgold, Ga. The event includes a limo ride, red-carpet paparazzi, free photos, catered dinner, dance music and karaoke for promgoers, plus Respite Room for parents and caregivers.
