Stop leads to gun, burglary, drug charges

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office has levied a raft of charges against two Cleveland, Tenn., men, after a traffic stop by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

A news release said a trooper found two stolen guns in the men’s car, and Bradley detectives then linked them to numerous auto burglaries.

The release said Nicholas Morton, 18, is a suspect in burglaries in the Thoroughbr­ed Subdivisio­n and other locations off Mouse Creek Road. He is charged in Bradley County with four counts each of auto burglary and theft under $1,000. He also faces charges from the THP and Cleveland police of burglary, theft, simple possession of drugs, speeding, no seatbelt and no insurance.

Joshua Ebonney White, 19, is suspected in burglaries on Covenant Drive. He is charged with two counts each of car burglary and theft under $100 in Bradley County. He also faces charges from the THP of possessing a firearm during commission of a felony, four counts of theft, possession of Schedule VI drug for resale and possession of drug parapherna­lia.
