Reception Friday opens ‘FiguringIt Out’

- STAFF REPORT

A reception Friday evening, May 4, will open “Figuring It Out,” the new exhibit at Townsend Atelier, 301 E. 11th St. The free reception will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Townsend Atelier has held a figure-drawing studio in its facility every Thursday evening since 2009, says Peggy Townsend. Throughout the years, countless artists of all ages and levels have come together to continue this time-honored artistic tradition of studying the figure from life.

This exhibit features works created at Townsend Atelier by more than 25 local artists — some emerging, some professionals — who have attended these open studios. Works in the show include painting, pastel, drawing and sculpture. Pieces are available framed or unframed and may be purchased.

Exhibiting artists include Roza Adamcyk, Cheryl Arnold, Mia Bergeron, Elena Burykina, George Dawnay, Kim Eisendorfer, Jo Fassnacht, Caleb Goggans, Lee Greer, Mia Hansford, Richard Harrison, Melissa Hefferlin and Jules Jackson.

Also, Kristin Kendall, Shelly Lovins, Robin MacKillop, Ruth Pearl, Gabriel Regagnon, Ange Roth, Dave Salerno, Seneca Smith, Caleb Stoltzfus, Rajita Tippavajhala, Sara Tolbert, Stan Townsend, Allen Wallace, Jillian Weathers and Maria Willison.

The exhibit will remain on view 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through the month of May.
