This weekend’s Valley Fest in Dunlap, Tenn., will feature a disc golf tournament, live music, plenty to eat and even more to see and do, according to Cody McCarver, one of the event planners and one of the musical performers. Valley Fest is Saturday-Sunday, May 5-6.

“It’s just great fun for the whole family,” McCarver says.

“It’s great food, great entertainment and it’s great for kids. We’ve got a whole area with stuff just for kids. And, you can’t beat the price: $10 for both days.”

Saturday’s list of things to do at the festival will include the inaugural Valley Fest Disc Golf Tournament. Participants can register online before Saturday and pay $40 rather than the $50 it will be to register day of. Registration includes a Disc Golf Player Pack and a two-day admission pass for Valley Fest.

“We will have a car show, a 5k, a 10k, a 1-mile run or walk and an art exhibition,” McCarver says.

Performing on Saturday on the Citizens Tri-County Bank Stage will be The Marshall Tucker Band, Smith & Wesley, Jimmy Dormire and the Peace Merchants, Carolina Calling, The Cumberland Band, The Red Rouges and Ogya World Music Band.

On the The Mountain Valley Bank Stage, the Students of Music Makers will play both days. Saturday at 11 a.m., Taylor Reed and Company will perform.

Sunday is Christian music day, when gates will open at 11 a.m., and wrap up by 5 p.m. Headlining will be Jason Crabb; also performing will be Cody McCarver, Zach Olendorf and Glory Road.
