Bethel Bible Village begins search for CEO
Bethel Bible Village has launched an executive search for its next president and CEO.
Bethel, a nondenominational Christian nonprofit on Hamill Road in Hixson, has helped children and families in crisis since 1954. Bethel provides residential care, counseling, social services and an accredited campus school for residents on the organization’s Hixson campus.
“Bethel is seeking an executive who is a collaborative team builder and visionary,” said Kevin Whiteside, vice chair of the Bethel board and leader of the executive search committee. “The right candidate will have both business leadership experience and a heart for Bethel’s Christ-centered mission.”
Bethel will celebrate its 65th anniversary next June, but the organization is focused more on the future than the past, according to Cecil Hammontree, Bethel’s interim president.
“Some people still think of Bethel as a home for prisoner’s children, because that is how we began our ministry” Hammontree noted. “But Bethel has grown and progressed with the times as we seek to serve the changing needs of today’s children and families in crisis.”
Bethel now offers a home for young teen moms and their babies and operates a program for children and teens with emotional and behavioral problems. Bethel also helps parents 18 and older with temporary crisis housing as they work toward independence.
The executive search committee is comprised of Lennie Furr, Stacie Caraway, Cecil Hammontree, Christi Wann, and Kevin Whiteside. Qualified candidates can contact Teresa Steele at HR@bethelbiblevillage.org to apply.
