Brandt is medical director of Siskin pediatric center
Siskin Children’s Institute has named Dr. Emily Brandt, a board-certified physician in general pediatrics and developmental-behavioral pediatrics, as the medical director for the Center for Developmental Pediatrics. An assistant professor, Brandt also holds the title of interim division chief of developmental and behavioral pediatrics at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga.
Brandt received her bachelor’s degree in music from Southern Adventist University and her medical degree from Loma Linda University’s School of Medicine. Her internship and residency in pediatrics were completed at Loma Linda University. Post-graduate training in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities at the Center for Disabilities and Development at The University of Iowa and a fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital followed.
She holds membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.
Dr. Brandt has been employed at Siskin Children’s Institute since 2013.
“With her credentials and experience, Dr. Brandt performs an integral role both in the center and as a member of the Senior Leadership team,” said Dr. Deborah Arfken, interim CEO of Siskin.
Dr. Alan Kohrt, chair of pediatrics at the UT College of Medicine and the chief medical officer of Children’s Hospital, said Brandt has been instrumental in developing the new developmental curriculum for pediatric residents.
“With so many families concerned about the development of their children, Dr. Brandt and the Siskin Center are seeking to address the increasing needs of Chattanooga and the region,” he said.
