Breaking down the ACC
1. Clemson (2-0):
The Tigers accomplished the goal by winning at Texas A&M, and now have things to work on.
2. Virginia Tech (2-0):
Hokies took care of business and avoided a letdown in Week 2.
3. Miami (1-1):
Now the Hurricanes feel better after demolishing Savannah State, but are they any better than they were?
4. Florida State (1-1):
Seminoles aren’t off to an impressive start under first-year coach Willie Taggart, but at least he has a victory.
5. N.C. State (2-0):
Wolfpack’s showdown with West Virginia canceled.
6. Boston College (2-0):
Eagles go on the road for an interesting matchup against Wake Forest after roughing up a couple of in-state foes.
7. Georgia Tech (1-1):
Yellow Jackets didn’t do much against South Florida to suggest that a major turnaround is coming.
8. Duke (2-0):
Blue Devils collect impressive victory at Northwestern, but lose quarterback Daniel Jones and cornerback Mark Gilbert in the process.
9. Wake Forest (2-0):
Receiver / returner Greg Dortch is back at full speed after surgery last fall, this much has been made clear.
10. Syracuse (2-0):
Orange handled mismatch vs. Wagner, not it gets real vs. Seminoles.
11. Pittsburgh (1-1):
Panthers fizzled against Penn State and now it’s time to start league play.
12. Louisville (1-1):
Cardinals find a nice way to recover after that Alabama opener.
13. Virginia (0-2):
Cavaliers lose at Indiana, so they might be just treading water.
14. North Carolina (0-2):
Just when you think the Tar Heels couldn’t suffer any more, they lose to East Carolina.
