Serene Spot

FOR HOLIDAY PARTIES

-

This time of year, between the morning mist and the fall foliage, the downtown riverfront is a serene spot.

“We really enjoy being here, and are trying to take full advantage of the river atmosphere,” said Scottie Bowman, owner of Scottie’s on the River.

Located in Cameron Harbor and just opened in June, Scottie’s on the River specializes in upscale eats served in a casual environment. The restaurant’s menu, coupled with the picturesque setting, helps make the riverfront restaurant an ideal place to host private year-end parties. “Last Friday night we hosted one for Baylor rowing team,” Scottie said. “That Saturday we did a wedding party. We have another coming up for Unum.”

The private dining space easily accommodates parties of as many as 70 people, she said, and includes half the restaurant’s front covered patio, with the option to spill over into the neighboring hotel’s garden — complete with fire pit.

Menu options for large parties are flexible. For example, Baylor guests ordered from Scottie’s full menu. The wedding party, however, chose from a special menu featuring four select entrees. Meanwhile, said Scottie, the Unum event features a buffet.

While the space is free to reserve, the view is priceless. Why not treat your friends, family members or colleagues to good taste this holiday season?
