HAVE DARI DIP DO THE COOKING

-

November has just begun, but Dari

Dip already has more than a dozen holiday orders on the books.

Year-round, the LaFayette diner specializes in Southern comfort foods; Thanksgiving is no different. Only, this time of year, Dari Dip offers bulk to-go orders for pickup or delivery.

Popular holiday orders include chicken and dressing, squash casserole, and sides such as green beans and mashed potatoes. Dari Dip can take care of the entire meal, including whole turkeys to baked hams. But the restaurant’s best-selling holiday recipe, said Don Benton, who co-owns Dari Dip with his son Donald, is undoubtedly its scratch-made cornbread dressing.

Over the next month, said Don, he and his son will be preparing countless trays of the famous dressing. To ensure they’re able to get all the dishes done in time, orders must be placed by Friday, Nov. 16, said Don.

In addition to to-go meals, Dari Dip also offers the option for people to host their holiday parties in the restaurant’s private banquet hall, which seats 50.

Parties of less than 25 diners are welcome to order off Dari Dip’s regular menu, boasting dozens of down-home favorites such as fried chicken livers and country-fried steak. Groups of 25 or more people are encouraged to order their meals beforehand or opt for a custom buffet-style meal.

Indeed, Dari Dip’s catering orders are already collecting like November’s colorful leaves. Everybody is extra busy this time of year. Why not let Dari Dip take some of the work off your plate (by helping you fill it)?
