Lookout Valley parade canceled because of bad weather threat

Some planned weekend events in the area have been called off because of the threat bad weather,, the Chattanooga Department of Transportation said in a news release.

On Saturday, the Lookout Valley Christmas Parade along Browns Ferry Road and Cummings Highway has been canceled, but Christmas celebrations will be held at John A. Patten Recreation Center at noon.

Also canceled are the Christmas Tail 5K & Mutt Strut on St. Elmo Avenue to benefit the Humane Educational Society and the weekly West Village Street Festival.
