Lookout Valley parade canceled because of bad weather threat

Some planned weekend events in the area have been called off because of the threat bad weather,, the Chattanoog­a Department of Transporta­tion said in a news release.

On Saturday, the Lookout Valley Christmas Parade along Browns Ferry Road and Cummings Highway has been canceled, but Christmas celebratio­ns will be held at John A. Patten Recreation Center at noon.

Also canceled are the Christmas Tail 5K & Mutt Strut on St. Elmo Avenue to benefit the Humane Educationa­l Society and the weekly West Village Street Festival.
