Chilton’s rich research deserves our attention
What a recent writer is missing in his snarly letter to the editor (“Capitalism, not racism, behind population moves,” Tuesday, page B7) is that most of the blacks are renting. It is the white landlords making the money from gentrification and putting up the rents that are unaffordable to the working poor.
Where was this letter writer when Dr. Ken Chilton presented research and facts, and solutions were discussed?
And where were the leaders of our communities at that meeting at Westside Baptist Church? Dr. Chilton’s research should be of utmost importance to our local public officials as well as bankers and developers.
