Parkridge names Whelan as chief nursing officer

Parkridge East Hospital has promoted Lynn Whelan to the facility’s chief nursing officer. Whelan had previously served as assistant chief nursing officer at Parkridge East.

Whelan has led successful initiative­s at Parkridge East that have resulted in the reduction of employee turnover, an enhanced patient experience and helped to improve the facility’s quality metrics scores, reaching a top 20 ranking among all HCA’s 178 hospitals. Parkridge East Hospital is a part of HCA, one of the nation’s leading providers of healthcare services with hospitals located in 22 states throughout the U.S. and in the U.K.

“Lynn Whelan has shown exceptiona­l leadership since joining the Parkridge East family in 2017,” said Jarrett Millsaps, CEO of Parkridge East Hospital. “During her tenure, she has leveraged her clinical background and vision for the practice of nursing to make an indelible impact on the operations and performanc­e at our hospital.”

In her new role, Whelan will continue working with Deborah Deal, Chief Nursing Executive for Parkridge Health System, to promote clinical and administra­tive agendas at Parkridge East and throughout the Parkridge family of healthcare facilities.
