Bryan College students serve around the world
This spring, many Bryan College students will spend their spring break serving around the world through Bryan’s Break For Change ministry.
Teams of students led by faculty or staff mentors will partner with local or international ministries and travel to a variety of locations ranging from Opelousas, Louisiana, and Houston to Belize, Costa Rica, Haiti, and Germany to make a difference in each community, according to a news release.
“Our goal with Break For Change is more than just a week of service,” said Eric McEachron, director of outreach ministries, in a statement. “We want these trips to be a catalyst toward new relationships and perspective, and deeper lives of worship, work, and witness for the glory of God. What makes the difference is the mindset and attitude of our students, the example and mentorship of our faculty and staff — and our wonderful host partners who immerse students in truly model-worthy ministries.
The teams will participate in a range of projects including working with indigenous people in Belize to provide health care solutions, tutoring and working with neighborhood youth in Louisiana and spending time with refugees, recent immigrants and survivors of human trafficking in Houston through YMCA International Services.
