Hunt eggs or join a mutt strut with man’s best friend Saturday
Two parties for pets are set for Saturday, April 13 — both to raise funds for nonprofits that shelter and/or provide medical care for dogs.
DOGGIE EASTER EGG HUNT
› Where: McKamey Animal Center, 4500 N. Access Road ›
When: 9 a.m. registration, 10 a.m. hunt › Admission: $5 per pooch
More than 1,000 eggs will be filled with dog treats for your fourlegged friends to sniff out of hiding. Don’t forget to bring a basket to collect Fido’s finds.
Separate fields will be designated for small, medium and large dogs. Dogs must be on a leash at all times and current on their rabies vaccination.

MAINSTREET MUTT STRUT

Where: Meet at Bradley County Courthouse square, 155 N. Ocoee St., Cleveland, Tennessee ›
When: 10 a.m. registration, 11 a.m. strut ›
Admission: Team of three or less is $15 per person; team of four or more is $14 per person; student rate is $5; free for spectators
Celebrate spring’s balmy weather by bringing your dog to join the first MainStreet Mutt Strut. The strut is celebrating Cleveland’s PetFriendly Downtown and to take part in the Mars Petcare Better Cities for Pets movement.
Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Team Spirit and Most Creative.
The strut will benefit the SPCA of Bradley County’s Angel Fund. The Angel Fund supports the treatment of special medical cases of animals in SPCA of Bradley County’s care, including (but not limited to) medically necessary surgeries, severe cases of mange and extensive care for cases of cruelty/ neglect.
The fun continues after the strut until 2 p.m. There will be animals for adoption, sales of dog and cat treats, pet bandannas, people treats, T-shirts and a photo booth for pooch pics.
