CROSSVILLE — Doreen “Dee” Mays Lewis, died Saturday, April 20, 2019. She was 75.

A loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r and friend, Dee was born in New Jersey, but later lived in Florida, Arizona and Tennessee. She worked as a stained-glass artist for over 30 years. Her beautiful artwork is displayed in churches, hospitals, and private homes statewide. Designing, creating and giving her personaliz­ed art to those she cared for gave her joy.

Dee was also a resident artist for many Tennessee public schools where she helped students create stained glass mosaics windows.

For the past 10 years, Dee served as a Director and Trustee for the Patti Lewis Home Care in Howell, Michigan where her support ensured elderly residents experience­d moments of joy and love throughout their days.

She was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church choir.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary De Lima; and her late husband, Bill Mays.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by her loving husband, Jack Lewis; daughter, Shelley (Ken) Young, of Franklin; sons, John Mays, of Knoxville and Rick (Michelle) Mays, of Cleveland; 10 grandchild­ren and three great-grandchild­ren; and Mr. Lewis’ children; Michael, Kathy, Steve and Scott and seven grandchild­ren.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Crossville, Tenn., with Father Jim Harvey officiatin­g.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Alphonsus Community Services, 151 St. Alphonsus Way, Crossville, TN 38555.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangemen­ts.
