Mary Anne Jones

FORT OGLETHORPE — Mary Anne Lawson Jones, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

She had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe. She was a graduate of Chattanooga High School Class of 1950 and was employed with Hutcheson Medical Center for more than 31 years as the Assistant Director at the Children’s Learning Center. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Judie Lawson; husband, Austin Jones; three brothers, Reece Lawson, James Lawson and Frank Lawson; and five sisters, Stella Ralston, Mildred Sessions, Clara Taylor, Dorothy Benardini and Infant Jessie Lawson.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Anne and Kevin Stone and Denise and Joe Montgomery; five grandchildren, Brittany Anne Stone, William Austin Montgomery, Jennifer Kay Smith and husband, Chaz, Sarah Kaitlyn Montgomery and Laura Elizabeth Montgomery; four great-grandchildren, Braylee Anne, Noah, Brody and Jasper and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2019, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Pastor Jason Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.
