Wishing Trump family hadn’t come to the U.S.

-

Trump has lied 10,111 fact-checked-times. Perhaps some people willingly believe all 10,111.

Paraphrasing Thomas Nichols in his book, “The Death of Expertise,” the U.S. worships its own ignorance. However, ignorance is hardly a new problem.

In “Anti-Intellectualism in American Life,” winner of the 1964 Pulitzer Prize in non-fiction, Richard Hofstadter, states this recurring American problem. But, America’s willingness to be lied to so easily is not the future of a free society.

I suppose this is why all six of America’s 2016 Nobel Prize winners in science and two in 2017 were immigrants. National Geographic (February 2019) reported of the top 100 U.S. companies, 44 were founded or co-founded by an immigrant or U.S.-born child of an immigrant; notably, Apple’s Steve Jobs was Syrian, and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is Cuban. Fifty-five percent of America’s billion-dollar startups have immigrant founders.

I suppose we need help with our leadership, and that is why Trump hates immigrants. If America is full, I wish someone would have thought of that before Trump’s family immigrated to America.
