- STAFF REPORT

InfoSystems, a Chattanooga-based information technology and cybersecurity firm and platinum business partner for IBM, has named Scott Davis as its new CEO.

Davis, who joined InfoSystems six years ago, has also served as chairman and CEO for nearly two years of APSU Inc. which delivers cloudbased services for the IBM mid-range market. Davis brings 32 years of technology industry experience to InfoSystems most recently serving with IBM as a client solution executive. Prior to Scott’s 16 years with IBM, he worked for Entex Information Systems, DecisionOne, Wang, and served in the U.S. Navy.

Davis succeeds Clay Hales, the founder of InfoSystems who will remain as company president and chairman.

As part of the change in executive leadership, Keith Hales has become chief operating officer; Fred Cobb is the new executive vice president of services and chief information security officer, and Chris Kotte is vice president of enterprise sales. Josh Davis remains as vice president of marketing as well as becoming a partner and principal consultant of 8Bend Marketing, an InfoSystems affiliate business.

“There are few things I’m more proud of in my life than the successes we’ve achieved at InfoSystems over the past quarter-century,” Hales said in a statement. “It’s a testament to the exceptional team we’ve built that today we’re able to name a new CEO and surround him with fresh leadership appointments that will enable even more wins, and all these promotions come from our current roster of InfoSystems employees.”

Davis called it “a true honor” to be named to lead the Chattanooga firm, which has grown to serve more than 1,000 customers primarily in the Southeast.

“Clay has done an incredible job growing and successfully maneuvering this business for the past 25 years, and I am excited to take reins and help drive us to new heights in the years to come,” Davis said.

From its headquarters on Hickory Valley Road just off I-75, InfoSystems serves customers ranging from small and mid-sized companies to some major national clients such as Deloitte Touche. The company does everything from selling software or hardware equipment to serving as a data processing consultant and even operating entire systems for clients by providing all of the computerized backup, storage and maintenance services for the customer. In 2019, the company and its affiliates are expected to top $50 million in revenues for the first time.

InfoSystems also is part of a joint venture with APSU, a British IT service company and IBM distributor which expanded into the American market last year through InfoSystems distribution channels.

In addition to his role at InfoSystems, Hales will also manage the interests of InfoSystems’ affiliated businesses, including APSU Inc.; ZPX Cloud LLC; and 8Bend Marketing LLC.
