FLYNN DEEP STATE INTRIGUE IS JUST BEGINNING

As I have said in this column for years, the Obama administration’s FBI, under the orchestration of Jim Comey, totally railroaded Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, which began the Russian collusion circus.

Comey later bragged on TV about sending agents over to entrap Flynn in a meaningless conversation. The agents who conducted the sneak interview said they didn’t think Flynn lied. Yet the FBI forged on. Threatened with the loss of his home and the indictment of his son, Flynn fell on his sword under the withering threats of our out-of-control FBI. It was a sad chapter in American history.

Joe Biden lied about it on ABC recently. When asked if he knew of the investigation into Mike Flynn, he said he did not. Then, in a rare feat of actual journalism, George Stephanopoulos pressed him on it, reminding Joe of his Jan. 5 meeting in the Oval Office discussing Flynn. Then Biden said he remembered.

Obama had to be thinking, “Damn, Joe — now you start remembering things?” Biden comforted Obama by saying, “Don’t worry, Boss, I will pardon you when I get elected to City Council.”

It has been an odd month. We have lost faith in the integrity of the FBI and other government policing agencies. I am not sure what sold out quickest: the FBI’s integrity to Obama, the #MeToo movement to Joe Biden or toilet paper to COVID-19 fears. I do know that the economy will open up well before anyone connected to the Obamagate scandal will.

Obama clearly had hyperpolitical hacks doing his bidding, weaponizing the immense power of the federal government against his enemies. We saw it from Lois Lerner at the IRS targeting tea party applicants, forward. No one paid any consequence, which encouraged more political weaponization. Democrat or Republican, you must fear this.

The FBI, long invested with immense, unaccountable powers to arrest and ruin American lives on a whim, is finally facing some of the real consequences of its own hubris. Hyperpolitical Democrat bureaucrats were willing to break the law to achieve partisan political objectives. James Clapper, Susan Rice, John Brennan and Loretta Lynch will go down in history as the most dishonest officials who set back our trust in law enforcement for decades.

In short, if the FBI asked me three years ago to help with a case, I would. Today, I would not say a word to them. Imagine how hard the job of the rankand-file agents is now — all because of the FBI top management’s willingness to break the rules.

With their pretense of moral superiority, the higher echelons of the FBI lied under oath; it was called “being less than forthcoming” or “lacking candor.” We still do not know how many documents they have hidden; they are good at hiding evidence. If we do it, they bust down our doors, perp-walk us and ruin our lives, as they did to Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, et al.

About Comey, there has not been a drama queen like him running the FBI since J. Edgar Hoover hung up his high heels.

This whole Flynn-Russia hoax investigation mired the Trump administration for three years. As I have warned the Left, when you set out to “get” a president, you might be surprised which one you get. Maybe for the sake of symmetry they will combine the Nixon and Obama presidential libraries.

If the Senate has any guts, it will soon call these bad actors to testify under oath about “who knew what and when” about Obamagate. Because of COVID-19, they will have to show up in masks to testify, which will paint a picture for posterity of who they really are.

There were more televised live sporting events in May than Obama news conferences when he was president. In 2008, he said his administration would be “the most transparent administration in history.” Finally, with proper investigations, that might come close to the truth.
