Shirley Mason

Shirley Jean Mason, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020. Shirley was retired from Cigna, and in her spare time she loved Crafts, card making, she was an artist, avid bird watcher. She also loved nature and living in the country.

She was preceded in death by mother, Ruby Varnell; daughter, Terrie Henley Williams; brothers, Ben C. Chastain and Thomas Chastain.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Henley Wilkie and Rob; son, Michael Henley; grandchildren, Shannon Williams Rairden and Jack, Heath Henley, Colin Wilkie and Carey Wilkie; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at New McDonald Cemetery with Pastor Jim Herman officiating.

and Jenny Mason (Jodi Barry). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Josh Freeman, Jennifer Rodriguez, Shae Luke, and Chandler Gilbert, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the dedicated and loving staff at The Terrace on Mountain Creek who have cared for our parents so lovingly over the last six years.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hixson, TN, where Steve and Mary Kay have been members since moving to Chattanooga in 1967.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the church.

The family requests that all wear masks and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, or Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
