Our Beloved Mother, Virginia Ann Ritter, 85, born on March 29, 1935 passed away peacefully on August 21, 2020 at Orlando Regional Medical Center surrounded by her three sons.

Virginia was born in Chattanoog­a, TN to Louise Barker and Raymond Coffey where she grew up surrounded by her many aunts and grandparen­ts, Lawrence and Mamie Barker.

Graduating from Hixson High School in 1953, Virginia took a job with Railway Express, a job that would later take her to New York City for a period of time before returning to Chattanoog­a. Upon her return, Virginia started a part time job as a cashier in a restaurant located at the airport at Lovell Field where she met her lifelong love and husband

Neil Ritter who worked for United Airlines. Virginia was for many years employed with Crane Company of Chattanoog­a, leaving after the birth of her third son, she also worked with St. Jude Catholic School as their cafeteria manager for a number of years. Virginia loved arts and crafts and in 1977 she purchased the Accent House art’s and craft’s stores in Hixson and Brainerd but later sold the stores in the early eighties after the family moved to Orlando, FL where she lived until her passing. Family was very important to Virginia, she loved to cook and play board games while being surrounded by them, she loved to paint, read books, and greatly enjoyed getting away to the casino’s with her family and friends when possible. She will be Forever Loved and Forever missed.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Neil Ritter and survived by her three sons, Mark (Alicia) Orlando FL, Daniel of Orlando, FL, and Christophe­r Matthew (Karen) of Orlando, FL. Grandchild­ren; Jacob and Emily Ritter. Siblings; Dorothy (Paul) Sisemore of Lakeland, FL, Carole (Richard) Thomas of Hixson, TN, and Lloyd Cooper of Hixson, TN and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Friday, August 28 at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanoog­a Funeral Home.
