Tri- state coronavirus cases

This data comes from state health departments, which compile COVID-19 counts from dozens of counties, often posting information later than it becomes available locally, because of time required to collect and compile statewide data. The Times Free Press frequently writes news stories or publishes charts based on the local data that becomes available sooner. Therefore, news stories or charts about individual counties will generally have higher numbers than those listed here. The statewide data remains useful because it allows an apples-to- apples comparison of cases and deaths in different counties based on a single point in time. Bold denotes counties in which the Chattanooga Times Free Press is distributed.
