Ronald Timothy Ullenberg, , of Hixson passed away on :ednesday, October 1 , 2020, in Memorial Hospital, with his wife, Sheila, at his side. He was born in Buffalo, New ork, to Thomas H. Ullenberg and Viola E. Ullenberg, where his father and uncle, John Ullenberg, had a jewelry manufacturing business. Ron attended Georgia Tech University where he played shortstop on the baseball team. He graduated with a degree in aeronautical engineering and entered into a career with aircraft manufacturing companies. Later he came home to work for the family jewelry business. The Ullenberg family moved the business to Chattanooga in the early fifties. They established a plant in North Chattanooga, Ullenberg Corporation, which eventually grew to over 200 employees. They manufactured fine jewelry and sold diamond rings under their trade name Forever ours . After leaving the jewelry business Ron and Sheila purchased the franchise for Champion Cleaners. For 2 years, they operated two locations for several years, and today operate the store on Signal Mountain Road. Ron was an avid golfer, and at different times was a member of the Honors, Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, Valleybrook Golf and Country Club, and Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club. Ron was a very compassionate gentleman and worked tirelessly during his long life, with the love of his life Sheila, supporting many local and national charities. Siskin Hospital was his passion and also he had a deep affection and dedication to the arts; therefore, he continually supported the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera. Because of his deep love for the unborn and young children, he actively supported the March of Dimes, chairing events to raise money for that organi ation and many others.
