Bottley promoted to Life Care vice president

John Bottley, legal counsel for legal and risk services at Life Care

Centers of America, was recently promoted to vice president of legal and risk services for the Cleveland, Tennessee-based nursing home and senior living company.

Bottley oversees and coordinate­s all litigation, regulatory matters, contracts and other general legal matters for Life Care. He also advises executive leadership on various issues.

“It is an honor to work with John on a daily basis,” said Todd Fletcher, Life Care president. “He is very passionate in the way that he leads and performs his duties and has a heart for our residents and our Life Care associates.”

Bottley joined Life Care Legal and Risk Services in 2013 as legal counsel. Prior to that appointmen­t, he clerked for state judges in Hamilton County.

A native of Lawrencevi­lle, Georgia, Bottley is a member of the Tennessee Bar Associatio­n, the Health Care Compliance Associatio­n and the Associatio­n of Corporate Counsel. He is licensed to practice law in both Tennessee and Georgia.

Bottley earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, and his bachelor’s degree in political science from Emory University in Atlanta.

“I am grateful to have the opportunit­y to lead a great group of people to support the tens of thousands of associates who work day and night to care for people in communitie­s across the United States,” Bottley said. up-and-coming profession­als for its third class of Leadership Tennessee NEXT, a program designed to offer personal and profession­al career developmen­t for Tennessee’s best early and mid-career profession­als.

Over the course of the program, participan­ts will have opportunit­ies to grow their profession­al skills and connect to a cross-generation network of state leaders, while participat­ing in collaborat­ive, non-partisan dialogues on issues of state importance.

“One thing is evident, the future of the state is bright, with these upcoming leaders,” said Cathy Cate, Leadership Tennessee Executive Director.

In its eighth year, Leadership Tennessee has developed a network of over 300 members, which includes 55 Leadership Tennessee NEXT members. During the pandemic, the organizati­on postponed in-person gatherings and quickly turned to a virtual setting, conducting more than 30 discussion­s on topics that included crisis leadership, racial inequality, mental health awareness, and industry-focused updates, along with sessions with special guests, such as,

Class III will have nine leaders from Chattanoog­a, including Julia Bursch, director of operations and special projects at the River City Co.; Brittany Fulmer-Ennen, a real estate agent with Todd Henon Properties; Evann Freeman, director of government relations and economic developmen­t at EPB; Donna Elle Harrison, director of cultural tourism at the Chattanoog­a Tourism Co.; Miles Huff, senior director of talent initiative­s at the Chattanoog­a Area Chamber of Commerce; Ken Jones, director of procuremen­t and vendor relation at EPB; Patrick O’Hagan, interim director of the Kimball campus of the Chattanoog­a State Community College; Daniela Peterson, senior advisor for The Trust for Public Land, and Callie Starnes, news director at WRCB-TV in Chattanoog­a.
