Patients established with CHI Memorial Medical Group can now be vaccinated at one of 11 Memorial locations in Tennessee as long as they are eligible for vaccination in their county of residence where the clinic is located.

Hospital officials announced Wednesday that nine primary care clinics in Hamilton County and two in Rhea County have doses of the Moderna vaccine on hand and are accepting appointments for eligible patients.

In Hamilton County, people in phases 2a and 2b and those age 55 and older who live or work in the county are now eligible. These phases include workers in commercial agriculture and food production, social services, corrections, public transit, telecommunications, utilities and public infrastructure.

Rhea County on Wednesday opened vaccine eligibility to anyone age 16 and over. However, since the Moderna vaccine is only authorized for use in adults age 18 and older, Memorial’s clinics will only be able to offer vaccines to that age group until vaccines are approved for other age groups or different vaccines are available.

More clinics are expected to start vaccinations next week, and a full list of locations and contact information is available online at CHIMemorial MedicalGroup.org/covid vaccine.

Memorial spokesperson Karen Long said the health system has placed a request to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and hopes to receive some stock soon.

Long said more clinics, including Memorial’s Georgia locations, will be added in order to serve more patients. The best way to find out which Memorial locations are offering vaccine is by visiting the website and calling the clinics listed to set up an appointment.
