Overnight house fire on Lookout Mountain leaves woman burned

- BY KIARA GREEN

An overnight house fire in the Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, area left one woman burned Tuesday, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.

Shortly after 2 a.m., multiple crews responded to the 500 block of Lower Cravens Terrace to find a home engulfed in flames on a steep hill. The location of the home created “logistical challenges” for crews, with the nearest hydrant 3,000 feet away and the driveway too narrow for fire trucks, the release said.

All residents were able to escape the home. One woman, whose name has not been released, received burns to her hand as she was trying to move her car, which was also on fire.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
