Betty C. Mitchell

Betty C. Mitchell, 94, went home to be with her Lord on April 29, 2021. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was of the Church of Christ faith.

Betty worked for and retired from Southern Inn where she served as executive housekeeper.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ambrose Mitchell daughter, Faye Waller son, Herman “Buster Waller parents, Eldridge Lee and Maggie Addie Carpenter sisters, Frieda L. Carpenter and Barbara A. Wehunt brothers, Eldridge L. “Bud” Carpenter, Jr., R. Carl Carpenter, H. Gordon Carpenter, James Howard Carpenter, Charles “Charlie” Smith, R. Clifford Smith, and J. William “Bill” Carpenter.

Left behind to cherish Betty’s memory are her grandson, Preston Waller, granddaughter, Ashley Faye Frye, great-grandchildren, Olivia Waller, Faith Frye and David Frye, sister, Vera Sue Mickey Bibbey, sister-in-law, Joanne Carpenter, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

A graveside Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday May 10, 2021, at 2 p.m. where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Charles.

We respectfully request that all current mandates set forth by the CDC and the Hamilton County Health Department be adhered to. This includes “social distancing” and wearing masks at all times while on the premises.
