Hubert Perry Jr.

ROSSVILLE - Hubert “Roy” Perry Jr., age 93, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2021.

He was born to the late Hubert Roy Perry Sr. and Hazel Lindsey Perry in Chickamauga, was a lifelong resident of the Walker Co. area and was a former member and deacon of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was an Eagle Scout and member of National Honor Society at Gordon Lee High School. Roy served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was the owner of Perry Insurance Agency Inc. He retired in 1992 after more than 30 years in the insurance industry. Roy enjoyed being outdoors fishing and spending time with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Steele Perry and the mother of his children, Hazel Day Perry, sister, Nancy Perry Doran, brother, Alfred Joe Perry, and granddaughters, Baeli Perry and Stephanie Perry.

Roy is survived by his loving children, Stephen Roy (Jenny) Perry, Janice Perry Marks and Garland “Chip” Ray (Regina) Perry, sister in-law Jean Day Jennings; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service on Saturday. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home-J. Avery Bryan Chapel, Chickamauga.
