UNPRECEDENTED GRACE
Over the last year and a half, we used the word “unprecedented” more than it’s probably ever been used. We were met with the challenge of competing against a global pandemic, tornado, and civic discord that was unlike anything experienced in the history of public education. Our team asked early on for your grace, and the grace you showed was unprecedented.
As Summer REACH programming has begun and preparations for the 20212022 school year are well underway, we wanted to take just a moment to say thank you for your unprecedented grace.
› Teachers: We asked many of you to teach students in person and remotely. Additionally, you stood strong on the front lines of the pandemic and continued to serve children. Thank you for your unprecedented grace.
› School leaders: You became contact tracers, expert community communicators and continued your focus on instructional leadership and growing children. Thank you for your unprecedented grace.
› Staff: You continued to drive school buses, implement enhanced cleaning protocols, distribute meals in new ways, and so much more. Thank you for your unprecedented grace.
› Community: You committed to providing free internet for every economically disadvantaged student in the county
for the next decade, operating virtual learning centers, and establishing innovative partnerships to support schools. Thank you for your unprecedented grace.
› Parents: You remained flexible and responsive. As we navigated phase trackers and shifting CDC protocols, at times you became virtual teachers. Thank you for your unprecedented grace.
› Most importantly,
students: You showed resilience, grit and a commitment to continue learning that inspired us as adults to remain steadfast in our commitment to keeping our district open as much as possible so that you could be in the classroom with your amazing educators. Thank you for your unprecedented grace.
My hope and prayers as your superintendent and a member of this community are that the unprecedented grace shown will continue and this season of challenge will prove to be the pivotal point that takes Hamilton County Schools and our community at-large to unprecedented heights. I am convinced this season has made us better and the benefits on the other side of this season will have a lasting impact.
Thank you, Hamilton County, for your unprecedented grace and for ensuring that our children thrive and experience a future without limits.
We Are Hamilton!
