Man guilty in bakery distributi­on center shooting

A jury has convicted a Tennessee man of attempting to kill his supervisor at a bakery distributi­on center in 2019.

Marcus Davis, 40, has been found guilty of attempted first-degree murder and using a firearm to commit a felony in the shooting at a Bimbo Bakeries distributi­on center in Memphis, the Shelby County district attorney’s office said Thursday.

According to trial testimony, Davis fired several shots at his team leader during an argument at the center in October 2019.

The 29-year-old supervisor was shot in the chest and left arm, and was hospitaliz­ed in critical condition, prosecutor­s said. Davis turned himself in to authoritie­s 12 days later.

Davis is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 19.
