Pair of slayings in Birmingham leave 2 dead over the weekend
A man died in a barrage of gunfire outside a convenience store in Birmingham, one of two slayings in the city over the weekend, authorities said.
The man was found Sunday on the ground outside the store in the Ensley neighborhood near a black Dodge Challenger, AL.com reported.
The unidentified shooter fired multiple rounds at the victim before leaving in a vehicle, Officer Truman Fitzgerald told the news site.
Police are seeking possible video and also trying to locate any witnesses.
In a separate shooting early Saturday morning, Treven Williams was gunned down in east Birmingham. He was found in the parking lot of an apartment complex, Sgt. Rod Mauldin told AL.com.
The preliminary investigation found Williams was shot and ran a short distance before collapsing in the parking lot, he said.
Both cases remain under investigation.
