Millennial Debt Foundation hires Tucker McClendon
The Millennial Debt Foundation has expanded its team with the hiring of Tucker McClendon as director of events. McClendon comes to MDF after three years as manager of the Chattanooga Market with Public Markets Inc., and he currently serves as the District 8 representative on the Hamilton County Board of Education.
“Tucker will be a strong addition to the MDF team as we continue to plan more events across the country raising awareness about the need for stewardship in government,” said Weston Wamp, who founded MDF in 2019 to address the exploding national debt and its impact on future generations.
In his new role, McClendon will be responsible for planning and executing all events, digital and in-person for MDF, which has organized events featuring prominent state and federal officials in Texas, Tennessee and Wisconsin in 2021. MDF is currently planning events in Atlanta, Oklahoma City and Miami for late summer and early fall of this year.
McClendon was elected to the Hamilton County School Board in 2018 and is the youngest elected official serving in Hamilton County. He has managed some of the largest events in the Chattanooga area while at the Chattanooga Market and was named one of Chattanooga’s 20 under 40 in 2020. McClendon holds a degree in political science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
“I’m excited to join MDF and be a part of its mission to lead conversations regarding fiscal responsibility,” McClendon said. “I look forward to helping expand that conversation through world-class events that will include some of the most notable voices in politics and leaders from the private sector.”
