› Tax holidays: Tennessee has two sales tax holidays starting Friday. The annual sales tax holiday timed to back-to-school purchases of clothing, supplies and computers lasts from 12:01 a.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday. The Tennessee General Assembly also has approved a sales tax holiday on groceries and restaurant meals that will start Friday and run for a week, through Aug. 5. A third tax holiday, this one a yearlong exemption of taxes for gun safes and safety devices, is underway through June 30, 2022. › Light Up East Ridge: Hot-air balloons that reach seven stories high when inflated will be set up next weekend at Camp Jordan, 323 Camp Jordan Parkway. Scheduled 5:30-9:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday, the balloon glows offer a chance for visitors to get close enough to feel the heat and hear the roar of the propane burners that inflate the nylon envelope, the colorful, bulbous part of the balloon. Vendors and musicians will be set up on the grounds as well. Advance tickets are $20 to $50 per vehicle; prices will be more at the gate. › RomaDrama: Here’s one for all you Hallmark, Lifetime and Netflix movie fans. A who’s who of stars of the networks’ romantic dramas and seasonal programming will be in Nashville for RomaDrama Live next weekend. Most events, including celebrity panels, meetand-greets and live music, take place over two days, July 30-31. VIP ticketholders also have access to a brunch with the stars on Aug. 1. Scheduled for appearances are actors Trevor Donovan, Ryan Paevey, Eric Mabius, Gregory Harrison, Wes Brown, Tyler Hynes, Paul Greene, Teddy Sears, Brian Krause, Brittany Bristow, Rob Mayes, Drew Fuller and Shawlini Manjunath-Holbrook.
